Ahhh as a photographer relocating to Phoenix, AZ, I know that I will miss those beautiful fall colors of the Midwest! Although I won’t miss the crazy cold dreary winters! I will still be headed back for some weddings this fall, so I am excited about that!
This wedding was very dear to my heart! I met these two while my husband and I were doing youth ministry in Oklahoma. It is so fun to watch them grow and mature separately and then together! We missed them a lot after moving away and were so happy to get to go back for their wedding. Although I was feeling a little under the weather that day from the flu the previous week, I am so happy that I was able to witness and document the special day and the love they have for each other!
As you can see, this was definitely one of my favorite first looks! You can feel the anticipation and love in the images! I am so happy that this trend of seeing each other before the wedding has caught on! I think it helps the whole day go smoother! It is often a more intimate moment where emotions can be shown freely to your future spouse without worrying about who else is looking at you! It often helps keep the couple calm and relaxed for the rest of the day. Not to mention that it is great for photography! This way you can pictures beforehand and not have a large gap in time where guests will be waiting between the ceremony and reception. Now moving out to Phoenix, Arizona, I hope this is a trend that I see continue to grow. However, if you have your heart set on not seeing each other until you walk down the aisle, we can definitely work out a great timeline for photos to make it work!
This fall day was a bit cooler than expected with quite a bit of wind. Nonetheless, we got some great pictures outside and everyone was so great at getting out there and getting those photos (although I felt a little bad for the poor girls!) Due to the weather, the wedding was also moved inside, but the venue had a great location and it was still as beautiful as ever. Brett and Caitlyn just rolled with the punches and kept a great attitude which is my biggest recommendation for future Brides that I will serving in Arizona! Nothing ever goes perfectly as planned!
