Now days, cameras are everywhere. With phones by our side at all times, often that has become our first source for photography. However, many people also have very nice digital cameras that they use once in a blue moon. Most people buy one and never learn how to take it off of the automatic settings. Often these cameras are optimized to take excellent pictures on auto settings, but the user forfeits the control and creative power. Even entry level DSLR’s are packed full of features that can be experimented with to create beautiful and compelling photos. As a Phoenix, Arizona Wedding Photographer, I hate to see these cameras not reach their full potential!
Often people want to learn more about photography, but when they look at all the dials and options on their camera, it seems like a daunting task. My goal is to help you gain confidene and understanding of basic photography to start experimenting with your camera.
My first recommendation is to read the manual. Yes, I know they seem like huge books, but probably half of it is in a different language, so it isn’t as long as you think! The most important topics to pay attention to in basic photography are Aperture, Shutter Speed, and ISO. In future blogs I will expound upon these three and help give a basic understanding of what they are and what they do. Stay tuned to learn more from you Phoenix, Arizona Wedding Photographer
